After substantial fashion for three days, the finale was a drop scene of Showcase

This season of HUM Showcase commenced with the biggest names of the fashion industry amid roaring applause and fashion forward runway presentations setting benchmarks in the field of fashion and entertainment. Veteran designers like Rizwan Beyg, HSY, Faiza Samee, Umar Sayeed and others set some new trends to look out for. The newbies also mesmerized and impressed the fashion critiques, some of the prominent names who stood out and produced quality work were Deepak n Fahad, Zonia Anwaar, Hussain Rehar, Mahgul etc.

It is so hard to manage such a large scale show but when two power combines they create magic, we are talking about Hum Special Projects Team and Take II, for putting an example to other local shows that how the job is done. Unlike other big events Showcase didn’t lose its charm and was ruling all over social media, faded other major events. But we wish they would have ended the show with Chapter 2 – but (some) wishes don’t really come true.

Zaheer Abbas opens day one!

With the amazing show flow, powerful designer line up, some awe-inspiring collections and new talent, it was certainly a great idea to open the show with Zaheer Abbas who took us to Victorian aeon, the frills and ruffles are the IT thing this year and Zaheer knows his job pretty well. Just like Deepak n Fahad – the duo is presenting some astounding work, they presented Deception in the previous season and now Beyond Borders – the collection was inspired by Sanskrit scriptures and Hindu gods, making menswear a little more fun to wear. Let’s give them extra credit for the experiment and to literally go beyond borders. Mahgul’s ‘Flight of the Bulbul,’ is something anyone would love to own and be proud of. We have seen designers experimented with saris but what Mahgul did was something really fresh and appealing, with styling and modern cuts, Mahgul closed day one with high hopes to look forward to.

Day two was a pure fashion night for us because it was opened by the maestro Rizwan Beyg, who proved it again that he is a pioneer and will always bring sheer perfection through his every collection. Who could have imagined that denim can do wonders? Rizwan put it forward and gave it a whole new meaning by blending it with saris, skirts, asymmetrical shirts and culottes.

Out of many, one surprise (that must be mentioned) was Zonia Anwaar’s well-cut summery collection. It is something that ladies must own in their closet and be proud of. Of course, as it was a pure fashion night who else other than HSY could have been a better choice to close the show? His collection ‘Musafir’ took us to a voyage of fashion, where minimal is the new trend. One must appreciate the styling with different layers and accessories and is easily available also pocket friendly as the line starts from 3000, Shero surely knows how to stun the fashion lovers!

Chapter 2 by Khaadi(As mentioned above) Wish day three was ended with Chapter 2 by Khaadi and we would have peacefully spent our weekend after attending three day long ‘pure’ fashion event. But life is not a fairytale and it can surprise us too – and surprises are not always good.

Nafeesa by Elan – Grand Finale

It was surely a pleasure to see local and international models walking the runway with fresh young talent. Hum has put another feather in their cap by gathering who’s who of fashion fraternity under one platform – that makes it the only credible fashion event of the year.
