Adam Sandler’s Murder Mystery 2 is happening at Netflix. Starring Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, Murder Mystery marks one of several Sandler-produced films available exclusively for the streaming giant. Set in the same vein of a whodunit mystery as Clue and Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, Murder Mystery released in June, setting a new streaming record for Netflix Original movies.
It was a huge hit when it bowed on Netflix on June 14, grabbing almost 31 million views in the first 72 hours. So it’s little wonder that the streaming service is trying to recruit Adam Sandler, 53, and Jennifer Aniston, 50, to do a follow up to Murder Mystery.
The original screenwriter James Vanderbilt, 43, is also in negotiations to create the new script. Murder Mystery followed a married couple who somehow get involved in a murder plot while on vacation in Europe.
It also starred Luke Evans, 40; Terence Stamp, 81; Gemma Arterton, 33, and David Walliams, 48.
