Bollywood films will now run one week after Eid

The ban on the screening of Bollywood movies in Pakistan amid the Eid season is reported to have been reexamined from a two-week duration to one week.

The underlying notification, issued by the Central Board of Film Censors, stipulated that the restriction will keep running from two days before Eid to two weeks after the occasion.

Notwithstanding, another notice issued by the Information and Broadcasting Division of the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage says that the boycott will be seven days in length, beginning from Eid day on both Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Azha.

The reason for the boycott was emphasized to be “to help Pakistani film industry.”

The decrease in the boycott’s length implies that Pakistani movies releasing this Eid — 7 Din Mohabbat In, Wajood, Na Band Na Baraati and Azaadi — will appreciate shorter imposing business model in the cinema world and will face competition from any semblance of Race 3 and Sanju sooner than expected.
