Isn’t Dolce & Gabbana’s kitchenware too similar to Pakistani truck art?

The Italian fashion maestro Dolce & Gabbana in collaboration with Smeg has launched a new, class apart kitchenware. Nothing new in this news. Right? Wrong! There is this best surprise that the kitchenware has been inspired by world-famous Pakistan’s truck art. It seems something surreal, extracted through the roads of Pakistan. Oh, our lovely culture!

Though the company has straight rubbished the rumours and has stated that the appliances and the designing on them has been inspired by Sicily and its breath-taking landscapes, we couldn’t think but to totally reject it. Obviously, which country is famous for its truck art?

On the other news, this new line has been named as ‘Sicily is my Love’. The line is a tribute to company’s ‘spiritual home’ and is inspired by its lush landscapes and lavish scenery and natural beauty. Among all the kitchen appliances, there is also a typical signage of ‘Made In Italy’.

Well, decide for yourself:

It is important to note that this is not for the first time that D&G has tried to come up with something that has not so remotely resembled our cultural symbolism – Truck Art.

In 2015, it launched #DGBeautyOnTheGO, a project that had a vehicle with nearly similar design to promote its cosmetic products.

We still can’t believe that is not Pakistani truck art. Please let it be. Please!
