Here’s how Pakistan’s fashion industry stepped up to fight Covid-19

With the numbers of effected people due the coronavirus pandemic shooting up at an alarming rate, many designers in the industry are reaching out to play their part in offering support.

One such entity is high-street brand Lulusar. The team revealed via Instagram that they have revamped their factory to produce protective gear for those fighting the infectious disease at the frontline.

Sold at zero profit, the suit is free-size, washable and reusable.

Previously, designer Maheen Khan had also announced a similar initiative on Twitter where she said she was ready to contribute her workforce to make masks.

There seems to be some development on that front, with Deepek Perwani also lending a helping hand.

Taking initiative at utmost urgency was however, Asim Jofa who started testing out prototypes for medical protective gear consisting of both suits and masks, going into production in 48 hours and has shared that they will be handing them out absolutely free of cost!

It’s heartwarming to see the industry unite like this in trying times. Good job, fashion fraternity!
