The first-ever ‘Red Bull Canvas Cooler‘ exhibition brought together pieces from twelve of the most innovative artists in Pakistan to showcase their creativity, imagination and ingenuity under one roof at the Riots Studio in Lahore.
Curated by Zain Naqvi, the ‘Red Bull Canvas Cooler’ unveiled a new display that showcased Red Bull coolers reworked into pieces of art by some of the most innovative artists in Pakistan; Jibran Shahid, Ayesha Sohail, Samya Arif, Babrus Khan, Raza Bukhari, Sanki King, Osama Khan, Sadqain, Shumyle Haider, Hassan Shah Gilani and S.M Raza. Each of the twelve artists featured in the unique art project had a distinct concept and interpretation behind their designs projected on the Red Bull coolers. ‘I am glad Red Bull provided this opportunity to us (artists)‘ said Osama Khan from Lahore who’s Red Bull cooler was on display on the day of the exhibition.
Supporting art and creative minds of Pakistan, Red Bull Canvas Cooler exhibition was by large attended by people from all walks of life. Be it music, films or media, some of the most prominent faces showed up at the exhibition to support the twelve artists featured on the project. ‘The artists have done some amazing artwork’ said Ali Hamza from the famous rock band Noori. ‘Great project and there should be more projects of such nature in Pakistan’ said Shiraz Upal. Bilal Khan, Ali Noor, Farhad Humayun, Umair Jaswal; to name a few were some of the famous names that graced the Red Bull Canvas Cooler exhibition with their presence.
Aimed at pushing the art scene boundaries, it was encouraging to see the future-creative-minds of Pakistan accepting new, unique challenges. The art scene in Pakistan needs greater exposure to different genres of art and Red Bull Canvas Cooler project has played its part in bringing a new direction in the art scene of Pakistan by uniting some of the most innovative artists to showcase their creativity on a different platform i.e. Red Bull coolers.
