The nation commemorates ‘Iqbal Day’ today!

The nation is celebrating and paying their respect and tribute to the Legend Dr. Allama Iqbal today.

The poet of the East. Iqbal, a poet and philosopher, was a great inspiration for the Pakistan Movement.

Dr. Allama Iqbal was born on 9 November 1877 in Sialkot, within the Punjab Province of British India (now in Pakistan). He died on 21 April 1938 in Lahore, Punjab, British India.
Iqbal Day marks the birthday of Muhammad Iqbal on 9 November. On this day it was a public holiday in all provinces and federal administrative areas of Pakistan until 2018.

Sir Allama Iqbal encouraged and worked closely with Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and he is known as Muffakir-e-Pakistan (“The Thinker of Pakistan”), Shair-e-Mashriq (“The Poet of the East”), and Hakeem-ul-Ummat (“The Sage of Ummah”). He is officially recognised as the “national poet” in Pakistan.

Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal gave a wake-up call to the Muslims of subcontinent to rise above mutual differences for launching movement for a separate homeland. His poetry guides us even today.

Pakistan will emerge as a true welfare state by following the principles of Allama Iqbal.
