Tom Hanks in talks to play Col. Tom Parker in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic!

Tom Hanks is reportedly in negotiations to star in an untitled Elvis Presley biopic being made by Baz Luhrmann for Warner Bros.

Hanks will be portraying the character of Elvis Presley’s legendary manager Colonel Tom Parker, who controlled every aspect of Elvis’ life.

According to the news source, the upcoming film is being described as focusing on Elvis Presley’s rise and zenith, with a major aspect being his relationship with Tom Parker.

Lurhmann who is producing the feature with wife Catherine Martin has written the script along with Craig Pearce, with whom he also wrote The Great Gatsby and Moulin.

According to the source, the actor to portray Presley has not been cast yet and insiders also claim that the search has not even begun yet.

When it comes to portraying real-life figures, Hanks is no stranger to that. The whole world has seen him in characters like astronaut Jim Lovell in “Apollo 13,” Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee in “The Post,” airline captain Chesley Sullenberger in “Sully,” Captain Richard Phillips in “Captain Phillips,” Walt Disney in “Saving Mr. Banks”.

He will also be seen soon as Mister Rogers in Sony’s upcoming biopic “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.”

As being reported Tom Hanks is busy working on Bios, a sci-fi drama from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners. He is also due to star in News of the World, an adaptation of the Paulette Jiles novel set up at Fox 2000 to be directed by Paul Greengrass, whose production timing is not revealed yet.

And besides that, Hanks can next be seen in the World War II drama “Greyhound” and as Woody in “Toy Story 4”.
