Since the hype and following of these taxi app services, we have come across many stories of woman harassment and molestation by the drivers of the cab. These incidents clearly indicate the fact that with such ongoing issues, we, particularly women are NOT safe!
But one thing’s for sure, it’s always the best option to speak out loud and make voice to the incident so these ugly men think a hundred times before playing their filthy games.
Ambika Sharma, a girl from Pune, India did the same and wrote a Facebook post about an Uber driver who simply couldn’t stop texting her ever friendly texts on WhatsApp.
On the 07th of May I booked a cab from the airport to Pashan in pune with you for a relative and her 2 boys! The driver seemed friendly and asked her where was she coming from and tried making small talks, to which she initially replied with politeness and later started ignoring.
Now this is what happens next. If this is not the beginning of harassment then what Is? I book my family with only uber because so far I felt safe and secure with you’ll. But not any more!!!
When he said he was the driver I thought my cousin left something back in the cab and he is meaning to return it.. but this is what the truth was!!
Please see the pics attached!”
Along with her complaint, Ambika also attached the screen shots that she had taken of the conversation.
Shaken and worried by such creepy and unexpected messages, Ambika took to Twitter and tweeted to Uber India about the entire incident to which they quickly replied.
Ambika, this is concerning. Please DM us your registered email ID/ mobile number. https://t.co/1WqzzOmdKe

After her complaint Ambika also updated the fact that immediate action has been taken by the company by suspending the driver. They further called and apologised about the incident, in person.
Surely the man got what he deserved. Never be mistaken by a woman’s politeness as it surely NOT consent, and I wonder when the world will actually understand such a simple thing.
