Deepika Padukone didn't meet our expectations in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

We were impatiently waiting for this movie not just because of Vin Diesel but because it was Deepika Padukone’s first Hollywood Debut movie and we all were excited to see her sizzle on the silver screen.

We know that she is the queen of Bollywood movies when it comes to acting, dance and “adaayein” but we all were impatient for he Hollywood debut. If you still haven’t seen the movie, then let me tell you one thing that she couldn’t meet our expectations, solely because of her typical desi English accent. Although she had a powerful role in the movie along with her sultry yet sensual action sequence, but her typical desi accent couldn’t win our hearts.

She looked hot in every single shot and her fighting scene were commendable. Deepika had previously mentioned that she purposely chose to stay with her original desi accent, but from a viewer’s point of view she looked much better in her action scenes and failed completely while delivering dialogues. In short “she looked cute when she was mute.”

While talking about the movie which is the third entry in this series, with the code name preceding two other films – Triple X.

After NSA agent and Triple X program founder Gibbons (Samuel Jackson) is apparently killed by a superweapon known as Pandora’s Box, the agency turns to Xander Cage (Diesel).

He and his crew has to face off against a group of former Triple X agents led by Xiang (Donnie Yen) and Serena Unger (Deepika Padukone). Vin Diesel’s team of “the good, the extreme, and the completely insane” includes aerialist sniper Adele Wolff (Ruby Rose), stunt man Tennyson (Game of Thrones’ Rory McCann), tech specialist Becky Clearidge (Nina Dobrev), and all-around random dude who’s just fun to be around Harvard Zhou (Kris Wu).

The over all film was good but it gave us a feeling that we were watching a typical Bollywood movie with a little bit of funny scenes added here and there. The movie could have been better, if little attention were put more to the acting. For me, it’s a one time watch only.
