In a bid to avert a clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’, director Rakesh Roshan had announced early this week that his film ‘Kaabil’, starring Hrithik Roshan, will release on January 25 contrary to its initial 26 January release. However, it looks like the big box-office clash is still on as team ‘Raees’ has also advanced their worldwide release on January 25.
When this new advancement was brought to Rakesh Roshan’s notice he said,”Whatever dates we are taking, they (Raees) are following us. I would have never done the same. I belong to an old school of filmmaking and I have given 50 years of my life to the industry. I would never release my film on a day when another filmmaker has already announced their film.”
Kaabil’s release date has been a topic of concern for both SRK and Hrithik and the former had reportedly been in meetings with producer Rakesh Roshan about the release dates but no significant change in the decision has been made as of yet, with Senior Roshan sticking to his decision of releasing the movie on Republic day itself.
