Choosing lipstick that is too dark

As you age, you lose definition in your lips, so to appear more youthful, you’ll want to wear a lipstick that adds fullness. A dark color does just the opposite, making your lips look smaller, less plump, and less highlighted. Instead, choose something in a mauve or pink tone.

Wearing black eye liner

Eye liner is a great way to make your eyes look more open. Define the eyes with softness and blending, not strict lines.

Choosing too dark eyebrow pencil

Your brow color fades as you age, so the brow pencil that you were using at 25 will look too stark against your complexion at 50 so choose the one that’s a shade or two lighter than your natural brow color.
