The trailer for RDJ’s rendition of Dolittle is out and it boasts an epic journey of magnanimous proportions.

Most of us think ‘Dr Dolittle’ and we remember the hilarity brought to us by Eddie Murphy but this upcoming feature has a very different take on the character, with a grand adventure that gives us Narnia feels. RDJ has a very whimsical look, answering the question what if Willy Wonka was into steampunk and could talk to animals… if you think that meant we don’t like it, you think wrong. #BringTopHatsBack.

The description lets us know what to expect from the movie as it goes on to say, “After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle, famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company.”

“But when the young queen [Jessie Buckley, Wild Rose] falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers wondrous creatures.”

While that is fascinating, we’re even more eager because of the cast, which includes, Antonio Banderas, Selena Gomez, Tom Holland and John Cena.

But let’s be honest, we’re all watching this for our love of Iron Man… we mean Sherlock… We mean RDJ.

Dolittle releases January 17.
