In a recent interview Kapoor and Sons director Shakun Batra opened up about Fawad and how he made his way to the top.

The first thing he was asked about was Fawad, to which he said, “I miss him a lot. I don’t know if I am supposed to be quiet about it.. and I don’t miss him because of any other things, I miss him simply because he is a great guy and he is a lovely collaborator.”

“We Indians who work around the world, we do it legally. Similarly, if somebody else wants to work legally in our country, it should be open. It should be a two-way street,”

He further said, “I don’t know I don’t think like that…I think it’s just like any other industry. I’m sure your parents weren’t journalists but you are a journalist today. I think when you have the passion that you want to follow, you should just go and do that.”

“I don’t think we live in an age where you think as an insider or outsider anymore. I was there, I just really wanted to do it and I am glad I am getting to do it. I just keep my fingers crossed and I hope that I can keep doing it,”

Despite 2016’s post-Uri incident ban on Pakistani artists, Fawad has always proved himself through his outstanding performances.

As per reports, director Karan Johar is himself not wanting to include Fawad for ADHM promotions in the city.

With a political party not allowing Pakistani artistes in Mumbai, at least two major producers in the thick of their latest projects, find themselves in a major dilemma. The political party has specifically mentioned two major Pakistani stars Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan who are working in films produced by Karan Johar and Farhan Akhtar. The two Pakistani artistes have been pointedly pulled up for their presence in Bollywood.

Apparently, Karan Johar, who has already shot one film Kapoor & Sons with Fawad in India is now shooting a second Ae Dil Hai Muskil with Fawad in London, won’t invite Fawad to Mumbai.

“He won’t take the risk of bringing Fawad to Mumbai for any shooting or promotional activities. Karan has already been in trouble with the same political outfit earlier for referring to ‘Mumbai’ as ‘Bombay’ . He can’t take the risk again,” says a source in the know.

As for Mahira, she has already shot some scenes with Shah Rukh Khan for director Rahul Dholakia. According to a source, “Chances are the producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani may shoot Mahira’s portions in Dubai or some other location away from Mumbai where most of Raees has been shot.”

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has requested the director of Kapoor and Sons to tone down the intimate scenes between him and Alia Bhatt, reported Times of India.

After making his Bollywood debut with Khoobsurat late last year, Fawad has become one of the most sought after Pakistani actors in India. The star has already signed two films since his last film with Sonam Kapoor: Reema Kagti’s film  Mr. Chaloo with Priyanka Chopra and Shakun Batra’s Kapoor and Sons alongside Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt.

According to Mirror, Siddharth and Alia who are also dating in real life have an intense love making scene in the movie but reports suggest that Fawad might also be required to shoot a steamy scene in the film with Highway actress.

A source close to the production revealed that, “Fawad is not comfortable with the idea of getting physical in reel life. Even in his TV shows, Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai, which are romantic family dramas, there’s no kissing or touching involved.”

Although the actor has lock lips with Sonam Kapoor in Khubsoorat, this time however, he has had a change of heart. “Fawad is extremely sensitive to the sensibilities of his conservative countrymen,” the source added. “He has told Shakun and Karan to water down the scene.”

The Humsafar actor will sit down with the director and KJo to discuss the love scenes to ensure that it does not spark off any controversy. He wants the scene to rely on allusion rather than actual action.

Earlier this year Fawad Khan won the Best Debut Award at the Filmfare Awards ceremony for his performance in Khoobsurat alongside Sonam Kapoor.
