Civil Awards 2020

This Independence Day President Arif Alvi announced civil awards to 184 Pakistanis on its 73rd Independence day honouring their work in their respective fields.

For this purpose, an investiture will be on Pakistan Day, March 23rd 2021. Awards are conferred for Nishan-i-Imtiaz, Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam, Sitara-i-Pakistan, Sitara-i-Shujaat, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, President’s Award for Pride of Performance, Sitara-i-Quaid-i-Azam, Sitara-i-Khidmat, Tamgha-i-Pakistan, Tamgha-i-Shujaat, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, and the Tamgha-i-Quaid-i-Azam.

People from all fields are awarded for their services in various fields including arts, literature, education and science. These awards were not confined to citizens of Pakistan but also foreign nationals are recognised for their contributions in their respective fields.

Sitara-i-Imtiaz award has been conferred to Bushra Ansari, Talat Hussain and anchor Naeem Bukhari for entertaining audiences both inside and outside of Pakistan for two decades.

Meanwhile, Nishan-i-Imtiaz award will be conferred upon renowned painter Sadequain Naqvi, late poet Ahmed Faraz and singer Abida Perveen.

On the other hand, The Pride of Performance award will be presented to celebrities including Humayun Saeed, Sakina Samo, and singer Ali Zafar, as well as religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel.

Actress Resham, producer and drama writer Sultana Siddiqui, Syed Farooq Qaiser, drama actor Javed Mansoor Babar, and Habib-ur-Rehman Panera are also a part of these civil awards.

The Chinese billionaire, Jack Ma, is also awarded the Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam for its services to Pakistan during the pandemic.
