Madagascar: where the living meet the death

Turning the dead: Famadihana

It takes place every seven to six years between the months of July and October, in the highlands of Madagascar.

This is a ritual performed in order to bring forth the good fortune, the people draw out the bodies of their dead ancestors, spray perfumes on their bodies, splash themselves with wine and dance on the drum beats; seems like death is not forever for everyone.
