10 most awaited films of 2020

  1. A QUITE PLACE II

The Sequel of 2018 A Quite place is set to release this year with no specified date yet. The film followed the Abbotts family in the t-apocalyptic USA who are forced to live in silence to avoid being slaughtered by monsters with super-sensitive hearing. Also, Peaky Blinder’s star Cillian Murphy is a part of the film but there are no details of his role. Hopefully, this part is as promising as the old one.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. THE FRENCH DISPATCH

The Moonrise Kingdom director Wes Anderson famous for aesthetically pleasing set designs in his films is releasing his 20th film The French Dispatch on 16th October. This comedy-drama is set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th Century French city. The film has a power pack cast from Wes old collaborations like Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Adrien Broody, and Jason Schwartzman along with new ones Timothee Chalamet (Call me by your name), Frances McDormand (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri), Jefferey Wright (West World), and Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird) and others.

 

 

 

  1. DUNE

Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve’s new film Dune starring Timothee Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson along with others. Looks like this year seems promising for Timothee. The film is based on the book Dune and is a remake of David Lynch’s film released 1984 with the same name. The sci-fi film is the first collaboration between musician Hans Zimmer and Denis. Hans took this film over Nolan’s Tenet as he says Dune is his favorite book. The film is set to release on December 18. The trailer hasn’t released yet.

 

 

 

 

  1. TENET

The most awaited film of this year directed by Christopher Nolan is set to release in September 2020. This action/thriller is about a spy as Warner Bros announced that Tenet, “set in the world of international espionage.” It’s the most expensive film of Nolan starring John David Washington as the protagonist along with Robert Pattinson and others.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. WONDER WOMAN 1984

This most awaited DC character film is set to release on 12th August.  After the success of Wonder Woman part 1, director Patty Jenkins is back. The trailer looks amazing and so is the fictional character Steve Terror. The two main villains are Cheetah, a friend of Wonder Woman’s who wants her power and turns evil, and Max Lord, a businessman who promises consumers to grant their every wish.

 

 

 

  1. MANK

After 7 years Director David Fincher (Se7en) is back with a feature film. This is his first feature film collaboration with Netflix after his series House of cards, Mindhunter and, Love death and Robots. Mank is an upcoming American biographical drama film about screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz and his battles with director Orson Welles over screenplay credit for the classic film, Citizen Kane. The film is set to release in October 2020. The trailer hasn’t released yet.

 

  1. WEST WIDE STORY

Steven Spielberg famous for working on different genres is finally making a musical. The film is a remake of the same-titled film of 1961. The story surrounds two teenagers from different ethnic backgrounds who fall in love in the 1950s, New York City. This musical/romance is also releasing on December 18th.  The trailer hasn’t released yet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. MULAN

Mulan, the Chinese legend about a young woman who acts like a man to go to war is an action remake by Disney starring Liu Yifei American-Chinese actor. The film is set to release on August 12.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. BLACK WIDOW
    Natasha Romanova, Black Widow is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The film is set to release on November 7 starring everyone’s favorite Scarlett Johansson (Marriage story).

 

 

 

 

 

 

10. NO TIME TO DIE

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective) and featuring Daniel Craig as James Bond (for the fifth time). It introduces a new character who takes over the “007” designation but the title is assigned to the MI6 organization’s top agent. He met with the expected amount of controversy, but the trailer makes it clear that James Bond is still the star of the story. The film is set to release on 11th November.
