No one has the right to comment on what kind of mother I am – Kareena Kapoor

After Taimur’s birth in December, Kareena started fulfilling her professional commitments the very next month.

While some may have praised her balancing act, many criticised the actor for neglecting her child.

“What kind of a mother I am is something that will unfold with time. I will not scream from rooftops about experiencing motherhood or how much I love Taimur. There’s always the pressure of being judged, no matter what you do. It’s about how you deal with it,” said Kareena.

She added: “Yes, I was on my feet a few days after the delivery, but it’s upsetting to have people judge you for it. No one has the right to comment on how I conduct myself or what sort of a mother I am. Everyone seems to have an opinion. Postpartum depression is not a must, right? It’s whimsical to generalise that every woman goes through that phase, almost making it sound like a norm. Every pregnancy and every mother’s journey with her child during those nine months and afterwards is different.”

Kareena’s statements were clearly directed towards the recent comments made by another Bollywood mom Mira Rajput.

In March, Mira Rajput had quite blatantly bashed working mothers.

“I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work,” she said. “Why did I have her? Misha is not a puppy. I want to be there for her. Seeing her grow can’t be quantified,” she added.

Since then, most of the people were saying that Mira’s statement was as an indirect dig at Kareena. But guess what? Kareena has given her and any other critic a befitting response!
