Rain calls for- Pakoray? Samosay? Chai…??

As July/August approaches, we all know what comes with it, monsoon season!! Karachi’s monsoon is definitely worth the hype, it brings a lot of positive energy and good vibes with it. Doesn’t it? There are all kinds of people when it comes to the rainy season, from anxious and worried about the aftermath of the rain to the ones who are dancing it out under the sky, without any care in the world, we have seen it all.

There are number of things people tend to every time it rains a cup of chai with your family and a plate of pakorays and samosays is the perfect combination, isn’t it? Well, my favorite is definitely pakorays, I mean who isn’t, every desi household is a big fan of pakorays, if you haven’t tried them, you’re missing out on life, trust me when I say this.

Here’s a quick recipe, tried and tested, for all your cravings your taste buds will thank you!

Ingredients:

  • ½ gram chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1tsp red chilli powder
  • 1tsp coriander seed powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 large potato (cubes)
  • Oil- for frying purpose
  • Water- enough to make paste

Method:

Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl and add enough water to make paste. Mix them well. Take a spoonful at a time from the bowl of paste and deep fry it in hot oil till golden brown.

And youre done, it’s ready!!
