Limited has officially inaugurated a 10-megawatt (MW) Solar Power Project at STM facility in the Gadoon Industrial Estate. The project, which represents a major step forward for sustainable industry in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), was celebrated in a ceremony attended by industrialists, provincial leadership, and community members.
The event was presided over by Mr. Humayun Saifullah Khan, with Mr. Aqibullah Khan, Provincial Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation, and Settlement, serving as the Chief Guest. The ceremony paid tribute to the Saifullah family’s historical role in the region’s industrial development before moving to the project site for the formal unveiling.
During his address, Mr. Sohaib Asif Sipra, CEO of SkyElectric (Pvt) Limited, noted that this installation brings SkyElectric’s total capacity with the Saif Group to 16MW (6MW at Kohat Textile Mills Limited). Mr. Sipra highlighted the strategic importance of industry leadership in adopting clean energy solutions.
“This project is a reflection of a long-standing relationship built on trust, shared vision, and commitment to excellence,” said Mr. Sohaib.
“We particularly thank the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and specifically the community here in Gadoon, Swabi. Your support and hospitality have been instrumental throughout this project”
The combined 16MW solar capacity will deliver significant environmental and economic benefits:
• Clean Energy: Generation of approximately 24–25 million units annually, enough to power 9,000–10,000 homes.
• Carbon Reduction: Offsetting nearly 15,000–17,000 tons of CO₂ every year.
• Reforestation: An impact equivalent to planting over 700,000 trees annually.
• Economic Growth: Direct and indirect job creation across the solar value chain.
The Chief Guest, Aqibullah Khan, commended the Saif Group and SkyElectric for their collaboration, noting that private sector investment is vital for a sustainable energy future.
