According to state-run news agency, renowned Indian filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was assaulted at the sets of “Padmavati” at a fort in Jaipur. A large crowd of protesters alleged that the film has a much-celebrated Rajput queen in poor light.
Rajput Karni Sena, a right-wing Hindu group attacked Director Bhansali, slapped and beat him, storming during the shoot at Jaigarh Fort.
They shouted and protested against love scenes between Queen Padmini and ruler Alauddin Khilji in the movie that is being played by actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. The Rajput Karni Sena has demanded that Mr. Bhansali delete such scenes in the film if any.
