People are now getting addicted to apps like Snapchat and Instagram and people are also getting more and more conscious of their real-life appearance. This is the reason many people from around the world are going to dermatologists and surgeons to get the same look as their Snapchat filter selfies. This phenomenon is being termed as Snapchat dysmorphia.
This year around 55 surgeons have reported that they have been getting patients who requested for similar surgeries.
Dermatolagist Neelum Vashi said, “Sometimes I have patients who say, ‘I want every single spot gone and I want it gone by this week or I want it gone tomorrow,’ because that’s what this filtered photograph gave them. That’s not realistic. I can’t do that.”
This selfie filter craze is increasing on daily basis which will not end up in a positive way! Hopefully these people will realise that these filters can’t beat the real and natural beauty.
