Deepika Padukone had earlier revealed that she is producing a biopic on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
The actor is also portraying Agarwal in the movie titled Chhapaak and now has shared its poster along with her first look.
Padukone features in the poster as the acid attack survivor, with prosthetics to mimic the post-burn marks. This does make one wonder why the producers couldn’t just get an actual survivor to portray the role though.
The film is being helmed by Meghna Gulzar, known for her work in Raazi.
Chhapaak will release on January 10, 2020.
