GrayScale Productions is coming up with a short film “Rani” featuring Transgender Kami Sid. Also this short film will also been screened at the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival. GrayScale Productions took to Instagram to confirm the news!
“Rani has been selected by the London Film Academy to be part of a special showcase of films, at the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival! The Short Film Corner runs from May 20th till May 25th, at the 72nd Festival De Cannes,” the post read.
The short film is a unique story about a transgender Pakistani woman who decides to take care of an abandoned baby. It highlights the journey of a toy vendor, played by Kami Sid, who faces many difficulties after she decides to become a parent to the abandoned child.
Earlier this month, the film also bagged the Special Jury Award for Impact at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival (LAAPFF) 2019.
