Looks like Salman Khan’s Bharat is in big trouble. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking change of the title of the movie. Bharat is actually the character Salman Khan is playing.in the film and there is a legal dispute over the usage of the name, reported Hindustan Times.
The PIL demands change of the title, claiming the film is “distorting the culture and political image of our great country Bharat.”
The plea was filed on Thursday by activist Vipin Tyagi who said that the title was in violation of Section 3 of Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act which prohibits the use of names “Bharat” for any commercial or professional purposes.
The film is going to be released on June 5 this year.
