Disney to remake ‘Home Alone’ for its streaming service

We’re a few months away from Christmas but Disney isn’t too keen on surprises. The company has made an official announcement that they are all set to remake our childhood favourite — Home Alone — for its new streaming service.

According to a news report in CNN, Disney CEO Bob Iger said the company would be “reimagining” the 1990s Christmas classic film for its long-awaited streaming service, Disney+, along with Night at the MuseumCheaper by the Dozen and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

In March, Disney acquired most 21st Century Fox assets, including several film franchises. Home Alone starred Macaulay Culkin and has an audience rating of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.5 rating on IMDb. It is one of those films that are impossible to avoid if you have a TV on around Christmas time.
The original movie made Macaulay Culkin a household name worldwide. The actor portrayed the beloved but mischievous Kevin McAllister, so it was expected that he shared a hilarious response on Home Alone’s reboot.
Disney has provided no details about how or when the film will be remade, or who will be cast. However, Disney
