Remember Abrar-ul-Haq’s track that just came out this month which featured Mehwish Hayat as a super cool bride?
A petitioner has filed a claim against track ‘Chamkeeli’ in civil court, Lahore. According to the claim, the song is an insult to both men and women. The courts have been requested to ban the track, removing it from YouTube.
Civil Judge Ziaur Rahman has adjourned the hearing till December 21, seeking response from Ibrarul Haq, Pemra and others.
The singer’s other tracks, ‘Nach Punjaban Nach’ also came under criticism. Previously, his rendition of ‘Billo de ghar’ for Coke Studio also was taken down due to copyright issues.
Abrar-ul-Haq has yet to comment on the matter.
