The much talked about movie Kaalakaandi’s director Akshat Verma (who had also directed Delhi Belly) has recently made news headlines with his statement that revealed that his first choice for the main lead of the movie was Fawad Khan and not Saif Ali Khan.
“Fawad was supposed to be one of the actors we talked to when the project was with UTV. It was around 2013… He was going to play the role Saif plays. But ultimately everything happens for a reason and for the best. No one could have done the role better than Saif.”
Akshat had approached Fawad Khan back in 2013, but the movie kept slipping from one house to another, and was finally handed over to Saif Ali Khan who got the lead role as Cinestaan.
‘Kaalakaandi’ is a dark thriller comedy, set to release on on January 12, 2018.
