After becoming an overnight star for her brief appearance in a song sequence, trouble is brewing for Priya Prakash Varrier.
A group of young men has filed a complaint against the song ‘Manikya Malarayi Poovi’ for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. The song is part of the Malayalam movie Oru Adaar Love and a case has been filed at a Hyderabad police station.
The group claims the song’s meaning gets distorted when translated into English. Defending the song, the film’s producers pointed out that the song has been sung by Keralaites for years.
However, the police have not taken any action on the complaint yet.
