20th Century Fox, one of the most recognized entertainment production name which has been serving in Hollywood for 84 years is officially no more. Masterpiece films like Star Wars, Home Alone, Die Hard along many others were made under this banner. The franchise was under the banner of Disney (DIS). On Monday, Disney announced that they will be rebranding their famous TV studio’s name to 20th Television cutting both “Fox and Century” from it.
The company closed a deal with gaining $71billion. Also, the remaining assets from Fox banner which includes Fox Entertainment, Fox Sports, and Fox News are solely a part of Fox corporation which has no link with Disney. The famous logo of “20th Century Fox” will remain the same minus the excluded words. The redesigned logo and animation will appear on new episodes of 20th Television series starting from coming fall. The series and film with the old logo will not change.
Disney will also be rebranding it’s other studios like ABC Signature studios to ABC signature and Fox 21 television will become Touchstone television. This comes as a huge shock to the industry as this franchise was created in 1935 combined by 20th Century Pictures and Fox films but Disney making this decision makes sense because it was all very confusing to consumers.
