In the very recent notification by PEMRA. They decided to pass on the issue against PDA which is to avoid showcasing scenes involving caressing, hugging, scenes which are intimate or involves bed in any way and also bold dressing or extra marital affairs. They decided that married couple should be shown according to the Islamic teachings and not against it or something which doesn’t go with the culture.
They further on elaborated that they were filled with complaints from the general public on the Pakistan Citizen Portal and their personal call centre which also helped them take the step.
After this notification was passed, people came forward on the social media and started to tweet bout how Pemra took a step forward against the intimate scenes but decided to not ban the domestic violence and controlling power of men is depicted in the dramas of Pakistan. Hence, you can’t hug but obviously you can abuse or hit.
