Former cricketer’s son commits suicide over non-selection

Former worldwide cricketer Aamer Hanif’s son dedicated suicide after alleged heartbreak over non-selection in an Under-19 cricket group.

According to the grieving father, who represented Pakistan in 5 ODIs in the course of the 1990s, his son, Mohammad Zaryab, was upset after he was declared too previous to be chosen for the U-19s. Zaryab, who was a first-year pupil in school and Hanif’s oldest son, hanged himself to loss of life. He was dropped from Karachi’s Under-19 team for being older than the standard requirement.

Zaryab did not take well news of his expulsion from the team and hanged himself from a piece of rope. Zaryab had played for Karachi Under-19 before.

International cricketer and father of deceased Zaryab, Amir Hanif, said that his son had committed suicide as he was under a lot of stress and pressure.

“My son was disappointed with the attitude of the coaches,” he said. “We should take steps to save others’ sons,” he added.
