Pari banned in Pakistan

The news has come as a shock to Pakistani fans as theatres in the country were supposed to screen Pari from today and tickets were also sold in large numbers.

Nueplex Cinemas was the first to break the news. In a Facebook post, the theater owners announced that the Central Board of Film Censors, Pakistan, has banned the screening of Pari.

The reason given for the ban includes the usage of Quranic verses as well as Hindu mantars in some magic spells. The reason sounds legit but with Pakistani censor board, one never knows. The film was cleared by Sindh and Punjab but got a ban in Islamabad.

After the ban, various multiplexes also shared the news on their social media pages and informed that the film will not be screened and tickets already sold can be refunded.
