Art of Giving in collaboration with Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation and its partners launches a Thalassemia awareness campaign.

Karachi, Pakistan – May 8, 2023 – Art of Giving, in collaboration with Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation and media partners, Do Advertising, FHM, People’s Magazin, RedTape, Hamari Web, Atrium Mall, and Port Grand, is raising awareness for Thalassemia patients on International Thalassemia Day 2023.

Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder that affects millions of people worldwide, including approximately 10 million people in Pakistan. Sadly, around 5,000 babies are born with Thalassemia in Pakistan every year, and more than 90% of patients are unable to cover the monthly treatment costs, which can range between 15,000 PKR to 35,000 PKR.

Through this campaign, Art of Giving urges all Pakistanis to unite and support the marginalized Thalassemia community in Pakistan. Thalassemia patients require constant blood transfusions and medical treatment, which can put a significant financial burden on poor families in Pakistan. Therefore, we invite all Pakistanis to join us in supporting authentic NGOs like Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation, which provides quality healthcare to Thalassemia patients in Pakistan.

Dr. Asim, CEO of Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation, said, “We are proud to be part of this initiative, and we are grateful to our media partners for raising awareness for Thalassemia patients. Thalassemia is a severe disease that requires lifelong treatment and support, and we need the help of every Pakistani to address this challenge.”

This is an opportunity for Pakistanis to come together and create a positive impact on society by supporting responsible giving. Let’s unite and help improve the lives of Thalassemia patients in Pakistan. If you would like to learn more about Thalassemia or make a contribution, please visit www.afzaalfoundation.org.
