Character Assassination has to Go!

“They can’t kill the truth, so they try to assassinate the character”

Let’s talk about character assassination through personal photos/video leaks.

Be it in one’s family, school or professional environment, this tactic needs to come to a halt.

Character assassination is not a new technique in Pakistan, but the recent normalisation of the practise of leaking tapes to damage the reputations of prominent individuals should worry us.

Recently, an unfortunate incident like this involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senator Azam Khan Swati and his wife occurred, leaving him with no choice but to go public and demand that such heinous practises stop immediately.

And that’s not the end of it.

Imagine that even the Prime Minister’s office, one of Pakistan’s most protected buildings, couldn’t protect itself from this attack when the EX-Prime Minister Imran Khan’s audios leaked.

There’s a saying that goes like: “Don’t sacrifice your peace trying to point out someone’s true colors. Lack of character always reveals itself in the end.” And this couldn’t be more right.

Character assassination is a cheap tactic used by manipulative, or simply sociopathic people, and usually the best way is to not to get lured into the drama of it, simply ignore it, and continue doing with what you are doing.

Yes, there will be people who will never double-check, there will be those who will want to find out the truth, there will be those who can see through it immediately, and there will be those who are simply not interested in it. But either way, you can endure it and continue with your life.
