Not only the filthy rich mafias are inspiring television shows and movies, it seems that they are being copied by many other industries as well. Same is the case with an Islamabad eatery, which is based on Pablo Escobar and is as cool as you can think of it to be.
Based on a Colombian narco-terrorist, who supplied 80 per cent of the cocaine smuggled into the United States during his peak days, Pablo’s B.Y.O.B (Build Your Own Burger) is an on-point depiction of that drug culture, but rather in a cool, teenage way.
And do you know the hype created by Pablo BYOB? It flocked so many people who were willing to eat the burgers in a drug style that the management had to apologize for the inconvenience caused. Sure, they did not expect so many people to be Pablo style burger’s fans!
Following the Colombian drug lord theme, the cafe has been going houseful since day one and will probably continue to because of the eerie atmosphere it offers.
It seems that the cafe owner is a huge fan of Netflix’s series Narcos. Wish we were in Islamabad so that we could also get the taste of what this hype is all about.
