‘Ek Thi Marium’- The much awaited telefilm based on the life of first martyred female fighter pilot will go on air today. This 80-minute TV presentation would honour the life of Marium Mukhtar who died in the line of duty. The film will be aired on Urdu-1.
Late Marium Mukhtar was martyred after a Pakistan Air Force FT-7PG aircraft crashed near Kundian in Mianwali District on November 24, 2015.
Produced by Nina Kashif, directed by Sarmad Salman Khoosat and written by Umera Ahmed, the film features Sanam Baloch in the lead role along with Hina Khawaja Bayat and Behroze Sabzwari.
Sarmad Salman Khoosat, in his statement to the media told that the telefilm has been made with an intention to honour the martyrs of this nation. The film portrays the glorious life of Shaheed Marium Mukhtar from her childhood to being the first female fighter pilot of Pakistan.
Marium Mukhtar is an inspiration for all the girls willing to fulfill their dreams in this male-dominated society. Owing to the victorious life of the late, she has also been awarded with Tamgha-e-Basalat-a military award by Government of Pakistan. Pakistan Senate Standing Committee on Defence (SSCD) has also recommended Marium Mukhtiar for a state award.
