Domestic violence, physical abuse, sexual assault of women is common in Pakistan. But, it is about time we stand up against the atrocities and extreme cruelty being inflicted upon the women. This is why Pakistani female celebrities have joined their forces to raise their voice through the “Beat Me” video campaign.
In the video by UN Women Pakistan, famous faces including; Meesha Shafi- the power vocalist, Samina Baig- conqueror of seven peaks, Naseem Hameed- fastest woman in South Asia; along with Sarwat Gillani, Sanam Saeed, Momina Mustehsan and others; invite viewers to beat them with their strength and the areas they excel.
The video reminds people that women are not the source of objectification but of a great talent and strength too.
