Gucci, Louis Vuitton & Dior donate to rebuild Notre Dame after fire!

France’s most famous landmark, Notre Dame cathedral caught fire last week. Photographs and videos of the iconic cathedral burning went viral, which took the social media by storm.
The cathedral has been a core part of the French History. The heartbreaking news prompted public mournings and many pledged to restore the 850-year-old structure.

The largest luxury companies in France, LVMH and Kering have pledged to donate more than $300 million for the restoration of the historic Notre Dame.

LVMH owns luxury brands like Dior, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, while Kering owns brands Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen to name a few.

“This tragedy is striking all the French people, and beyond that, all those attached to spiritual values,” Francois-Henri Pinault, CEO of Kering said in a statement.

“Faced with this tragedy, everyone wishes to give life back to this jewel of our heritage as soon as possible,” he further added.

The building’s spire and the roof collapsed. However, as per reports, the main structure including two bell towers have been saved by the firefighters. Along with two French luxury houses, many billionaires have also pledged to donate money.

As per the experts, the restoration can take 10 to 20 years.
