After the exceptional work of Sarmad Sultan Khoosat in “Manto”, Irfan Khan has expressed that he wants to play the role of the Legendary Writer, Saadat Hasan Manto .
This movie will be directed by Nandita Das who is returning to direction after six years. As this film is based on Saadat Hasan Manto, Nandita Das said that “Irfan has shown interest in playing the lead role of her upcoming film. Irfan himself is a Manto fan and has read a lot of his work”.
Nandita thinks that Ifran will be able to portray the character effortlessly.
When Nandita spoke to Irfan he said, “for this kind of role, any actor would rise from the grave to do it”.
Nandita also wants to shoot some of the parts from the movie in Pakistan, “I want to try and shoot there, for few days atleast but I want to collaborate with Pakistan.
The script of the film has been finalized. The shooting will start in August next year.
