Riccardo Tisci’s debut show for Burberry, presented an elegant version of women’s wear with a safe but beautiful neutral palette. Tisci’s debut stunning collection, called ‘Kingdom’, which celebrated the diversity and the heart of England.
The highly anticipated debut from the former creative director of Givenchy saw no celebrities invited to sit on the front row, marking a stark contrast to Burberry’s former shows and to Tisci’s approach at Givenchy. However, a number of A-list models did take to the catwalk, including the likes of Irina Shayk, Stella Tennant, Jourdan Dunn, Natalia Vodianova and, of course, Jenner.
Models debuted pastel-coloured knee length pleats with chiffon shirts. There was the occasional subtle nod to the house’s heritage via Tisci’s new vision of the trench coat with smatterings of the iconic Burberry check.
His menswear looks combined street wear with a bold and modern take on tailoring. This is where Tisci’s vision really came into its own.
