Loug Kya Kaheingay; Fighting the Societal Pressures

“Loug kya kaheingay” is more of a thought than it is a question that occurs to people more frequent than it should. Now let me clear one thing which is a fact that there are some morals, ethics and values which are obviously different in every sect and family but one should always know how to be considerate, helpful and be able to lift each other up instead of pulling them down.

The thought that holds most of the people back is “Loug kya kaheingay”. This effects the happiness and decision making of most of the people. Why hold back a decision that would make you happy but not the society? I mean obviously don’t go around hurting people’s sentiments and feelings but one can always take a decision for themselves without feeling the guilt of it being unapproved or unacceptable in other people’s point of view. Why would you care “Loug kya kaheingay” if your daughter wants to persue football as a profession and she’s actually serious about it and plays it well? You can advise her about the profession and educate her more about the package of health problems that might come with it as a profession or even say no if her physical health doesn’t allow it but never at the cost of “Loug kya kaheingay”.

For instance, a house maker who’s an at home mom gets the same amount of haw haye’s that a working woman does. Both of these women are precious and have huge responsibilities on their shoulders but it’s about personal choice and they should be respected.

Sadly, there is no possible way to keep everyone around you happy. It should always be the close ones, important people and people that genuinely love and respect you and your decisions. Validation from yourself instead of people around you with no importance in your life shouldn’t matter. One should never compromise anything at the cost of family, morals and ethics but one shouldn’t let “Loug Kya kaheingay” pull you down or effect your decisions. Nothing comes above personal choice/decision and obviously family.
