Mary-Kate Olsen has filed for an emergency divorce from her husband of five years Olivier Sarkozy.
The child star, 33, initially signed off for a divorce from her 50-year-old husband on April 17 but New York City courts haven’t been accepting divorce filings amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Now the TV sensation has upped the ante by requesting an emergency order to end her marriage.
And now the French banker is kicking Mary-Kate out of his multi-million dollar NYC apartment they shared together by terminating their lease without telling her.
It is reported Olivier’s lawyers told his wife to get out on May 18, however that did not leave her with enough time to find a place of her own.
Mary-Kate – whose twin sister is actress Ashley – reportedly asked the lawyers for an extension until May 30 but she has not yet heard back.
The site added the actress felt stuck so she filed a divorce petition so that her “property would be protected”.
A divorce petition automatically prevents her from throwing her property out, the site explained.
The pair – who have a 17-year age gap – began dating in 2012 and later tied the knot in 2015 during an intimate ceremony in new York.
The wedding featured a select 50 guests to the pair’s pad as they wined and dined with a limited amount of A-listers in the garden of the property.
Mary-Kate and Olivier – whose half-brother is the former President of France Nicolas Sarkozy – did not have any children together.
Olivier has two kids from his previous marriage.
She added: “But then I have a husband, two step-kids and a life; I have to go home and cook dinner. I run on the weekend.
“You find the thing that helps you relax and if you don’t have it, you have to look for it. Or you get burned out and then you’re not productive.”
