Naseem Shah’s take on the importance of education for cricketers

Naseem Abbas Shah is a Pakistani international cricketer. He is a fast bowler and is in playing-eleven in T20 Format. In October 2019, at the age of 16, he was called up to the Pakistan cricket team for their Test series against Australia.

Our Cricketers have always been criticized for their lack of education and English speaking skills, our cricket hero Naseem Shah has multiple times addressed this issue and in a recent statement said that although English is important for communication it is not his native language or mother tongue hence there is no shame in saying that he cannot speak the language well enough.

Naseem Shah, at a press conference, humbly accepted that his English-speaking skills aren’t that great. According to Times Now, he tried to answer as many questions as he could in Hindi but there was this one journalist who asked for his opinion on James Anderson, who is one of the finest bowlers in the world.

“He is a legend and he did a lot of hard work. We have learned a lot of things from him and whenever we meet, we discuss a few things. He is 40 years old, he is still fit and playing so that shows the amount of hard work he is putting in,” he said in English.
