Our childhood favourite ‘Zakoota’ Jinn aka Munna Lahori passes away

Renowned TV artist Matloob-ur-Rehman alias Munna Lahori passed away here in Lahore on Friday. According to the reports, earlier on Thursday he was taken to Mayo Hospital where his condition deteriorated. He was suffering from paralysis.

Matloob gained popularity with ‘Ainak Wala Jinn’, a record breaking 1993 play, as his character Zakoota became a fan favourite and a whole generation who watched the show still remember his iconic dialogue, “Zeminaar…Mujhe kaam batao, mein kya karoun, mein kis ko khaun?”

Munna Lahori’s unforgettable acting was the source of happiness for many children at that time but today his own children are deprived of happiness. Due to paralysis attack, half of his body is unable to function normally and sadly, none of his co-workers or co-actors visited him to enquire about his health.

Let’s respect and value our legendary actors in their lives and not wait for their sad demise to reward them afterwards. RIP SIR!
