After successfully organizing a digital story-telling workshop for young aspiring filmmakers and a mobile screening drive throughout the city, the first Pakistan International Film Festival under the patronage of Karachi Film Society is set to enter into its third phase with a seminar on the role of women in the Pakistani film industry.
The seminar titled “The Celebration of Women in Film” has a diverse list of panelists associated with the film industry and will be hosted by celebrated actor/director Sania Saeed.
President Karachi Film Society, Sultana Siddiqui gave the welcoming speech to media personnel and panelists on behalf of KFS and open the first panel discussion on the “Role of Women in Pakistani Film Industry and the Challenges Faced”. The panel for the first session includes Samina Peerzada, Zeba Bakhtiyar, Sarwat Gillani, Hareem Farooq and Reema. Panellists for the closing panel discussion on “Our Vision for Pakistani Film Industry” were Sabiha Sumar, Fizza All Meerza, Mehreen Jabbar, Momina Duraid and Nabila. After the closing panel discussion a QA session with the media was arranged.
