Shailene Woodley, the famous Hollywood actress and activist, was arrested in North Dakota during a protestation against a massive pipeline project intended to target four states; on Monday.
According to Los Angeles Times, Woodley was arrested with 26 other demonstrators; who were charged for criminal offense, trespassing and engaging in riot causing activities.
Shailene Woodley was arrested for broadcasting the protest live from the construction site on Facebook. The rally had about 200 participants.
Ms. Woodley believes that she was arrested “because I’m well known, because I have 40,000 people watching”.
The demonstration video posted by Shailene Woodley went viral and was viewed more than 2.4 million times on social media.
