Around 10 millions users were impacted by the sudden crash of the top 3 running apps on Monday evening, worldwide. The apps Whatsapp, Instagram and Facebook stopped working for around 6-8 hours and it surely created a major impact! Tracking sites showed this as a massive outage and it left everyone in a state of confusion.
Mark Zuckerburg lost a total o over $6 Billion in 7 hours knocking him off the list of the worlds richest people.
A sell-off had sent the social media giant stock plummeting 4.9% on Monday adding to a total drop of 15% since September.
This slide in stock sent Zuckerburg’s total earnings to around $126.6 billion which was a drastic shift.
It is quite intriguing how a minor outage could lead to such massive losses and I must say, this made many of us realise how essential social media has become in our day to day lives.
