An ode to a legend.

Today, the nation is celebrating Iqbal Day to commemorate the birthday of Allama Iqbal who was born on November 9th, 1877. He was born in a Kashmiri family in Sialkot and is known to be one of the most honourable British Indian poet, philosopher, academic barrister, scholar  and politician in Pakistan.

His work is the highly celebrated in the world of poetry and literature.

Here are some of his famous pieces on love, religion, spirituality and I hope you enjoy them.

  1. Khudi ko kar buland itna, ki har taqdeer se pehle, Khuda bande se khud pooche bata teri raza kya hai?

This couplet talks about focusing on your self worth rather than materialism. One should be so confident and determine that God himself rewards him without the need to ask.

  1. Tere ishq ki intehaan chahta hoon, meri sadagi dekh kya chahta hun.
  2. Apnay kirdaar pe daal ke parda Iqbal, har shaks keh raha hai zamana kharab hai.
  3. Kashti bhi nahi badali, dariya bhi nahi badala. Aur doobne waalon ka jazba bhi nahi badala. Hai shauk safar ek arse se yaaron. Manzil bhi nahi paayi aur rasta bhi nahi badala.

This shayari is all about not giving up. It inspires people to keep trying until they succeed. The permanence of trouble tends to impact achievers and demotivate them. One should remember never to lose focus and keep their eye on the goal!

These beautiful and evergreen shayaris from Allama Iqbal will always be etched in out hearts. We were privileged to have been blessed with such legends.
