Harry Potter river cruise to set sail this summer

Listen up Harry Potter fans!

For Harry Potter fans, the next best thing to a flying car kicks off in summer 2018 on England’s Thames River. Harry Potter-themed river cruises will take passengers on a “magical” itinerary, visiting landmarks that appeared in the film series.

Held onboard the eight-passenger Magna Carta barge ship, the Harry Potter cruise sails roundtrip from London, kicking off with a traditional afternoon tea experience. Along the way, passengers can tour Harry Potter filming locations, such as Virginia Water (where Harry encounters Buckbeak at the lake in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”), Dorney Court and Picket Post Close (the real-life 4 Privet Drive in the first Harry Potter film) and Christ Church College at Oxford University (the Great Hall at Hogwarts), as well as Warner Brothers Studios for a behind-the-scenes Harry Potter tour.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is setting sail this summer. The ‘Barge Lady Cruise Company’, is offering a Harry Potter-themed cruise down London’s River Thames. The six-day cruise makes stops at key filming locations like Hogwarts Great Hall and Four Privet Drive where Harry grew up.

Passengers will also get up close and personal with costumes and props from the movie. All of the tours are covered by the cost of the trip along with meals, wine, an afternoon tea experience, and an open bar.

In addition to tours, the cruises include all transfers, the afternoon tea experience on embarkation day, all meals onboard the ship, all wines with lunch and dinner, an open bar and use of onboard bicycles in port. Fares for a standard cabin, based on double occupancy, start at $5,350. There’s also an option to charter the entire ship.
